My Background
I have always referred to myself as a “creative jack-of-all-trades” for having many talents, and a creative soul who loves continual learning and growth.
My background extends from being a double major in Global Studies and Spanish, a school photographer, and an administrative employee at an advertising agency.
Although all different, these experiences have allowed me to hone in skills such as open-mindedness, problem-solving, and strong communication - and employ them into my work as a designer.
Why UX?
I made the decision to switch careers into UX because I wanted to be challenged in an industry where my passions lie.
A professional goal of mine before I knew about UX was to “utilize my creativity to help people” - which made being a UX designer an appealing career path.
Through my design education, I realized just how important and impactful a great design can have, and this contributed to my desire to be a part of this growing community.
My Goals
Being a visual storyteller is another reason for choosing a career in UX. I enjoy being able to decipher users' wants and needs, and translate them into my designs - I find that transparency and honest designing are critical to uncover these truths.
My goal as a designer is to create inspirational work that positively transforms the way people interact with their products. I also strive to be a well-rounded designer, or a “jack”, that wants to continually learn and improve my skills in the industry.
My Hobbies
If I am not sitting at my computer designing, you might find me traveling, taking photos or doing contortion (yep, extreme yoga).
If not doing one of those activities, then I am learning how to cook Korean BBQ to perfection.
